Hi, I’m Tabitha, and I’m the Galveston cruise specialist at Point Me To Paradise. I live minutes from the port, and that is the whole reason this is my job rather than my hobby.

I book every line sailing from Galveston — Carnival, Royal Caribbean, MSC, Norwegian and Disney — and I know the differences that don’t show up on a booking page. Which ship suits a family with toddlers and which suits teenagers. Which cabins sit under the pool deck. When MSC Yacht Club is worth the jump and when it absolutely isn’t. What time you actually need to leave Houston on embarkation morning, and where to park once you get here.

I also do a lot of group travel, especially multigenerational families — the trips where grandparents, parents and toddlers all have to get something out of the same week. A ship is often the answer to that, and I’ll tell you when it isn’t. Universal Studios trips too, which are their own kind of puzzle.
